India’s new jersey for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, unveiled on Monday, has sparked controversy by including the hosts this time ‘Pakistan’.
ICC released photos of captain Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep in new jerseys. The logo of the tournament and the name of the host country are clearly visible on this new jersey.
While it may have come as a surprise to some, BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia said India will follow the ICC guidelines, but the speculation about the jersey controversy has been put to rest.
The Champions Trophy begins with Pakistan taking on New Zealand in the opening match in Karachi on February 19. India’s first match will be played against Bangladesh on February 20.
Traditional rivals India-Pakistan will face each other on February 23 and the final league stage match against New Zealand will be played on March 2.
